So last Thursday my friend Bine and me went to the Oktoberfest. It was very nice and not so crowded.

I still have bad memories of that day because I was very close to the place when the bomb exploded. Me and my friends could have been victims too.

Even three little children aged 6 and 8 were killed.

On Monday Oktoberfest will be over!! Thank God, because for someone who lives here just in the centre of town it is quite displeasing.

Good Oktoberfest advice !


Hi Folks,

here is a good advice for all of you – if you really want to enjoy the Munich Oktoberfest – do not come here during the weekends. I tell you, that you do not have a chance to get a place in the tents, if you are not invited from a firm or company, having a reservation or if you are a celebrity (but he or she will be also invited).

Come to Munich Oktoberfest during the week otherwise you will be frustrated. Even other popular places downtown will be full from 12:00 am on. Every tent on the Oktoberfest will be closed after 11:00 am, because of too many people. I really feel sorry sometimes of all the folks that come here to enjoy the event.

Best regards to all of you around the world and we are all happy to have you with us again in 2011.

Oktoberfest 2010

So, Oktoberfest time is starting again. 

Well, it is a jubilee Oktoberfest. 200 years anyversary!

Tomorrow a good friend of mine will arrive and we will see the great parade of costume procession which will go on for two hours.

 The horses are awesome. I will post some more in the next few days.

So, we had a great weekend here in Munich and perfect Oktoberfest weather.

Had some friends coming to Munich and on Sunday we watched the great parade for the Oktoberfest at the Vier Jahreszeiten Hotel.

My schoolmate Kerstin and Liza, a girl from the spa who is also a regular there and myself having a very good time.

The traditional costumes are all wonderful and it is fun to watch this.

Later on we went to the Bayerischer Hof meeting some other friends from friends. All the "girls" just had a wonderful time.

Wochenende in St. Gallen

Hallo Liebe Freunde,

hier bin ich wieder. Vor zwei Wochen habe ich endlich mal meine alte Freundin Patricia und ihre Tochter Anna in ihrer neuen schweizer Heimat besucht. Die Autofahrt dorthin war wunderbar und die Bodenseegegend ist wirklich toll.

In ca. 2,5 Stunden war ich dann in St. Gallen. Adresse war auch leicht zu finden.

Wie nicht anders zu erwarten ist die Wohnung super geschmackvoll und liegt ideal. In 3 Minuten ist man in der Fußgängerzone von St. Gallen. Ein wunderschönes Städtchen und das Wetter hat auch perfekt mitgespielt.

St. Gallen ist u.a. für seine vielen wunderschönen Erker berühmt. Gibt sogar extra Führungen. Die Stiftskirche ist auch ganz fantastisch und sehr beeindruckend.

Am Sonntag haben wir einen Spaziergang in den Wildpark unternommen und waren dann noch auf der gegenüberliegenden Seite beim Seebad Dreilinden. Könnte mir auch gut vorstellen dort zu leben zumal ich eh nicht so ein Großstadtmensch bin. München ist groß genug für mich.

Was mir übrigens auch sehr positiv aufgefallen ist, dass die Leute in der Stadt rücksichtsvoller sind und einen nicht dauernd umrennen oder anrempeln wie das bei uns in München mittlerweile Sitte ist. Werde mich hierzu noch in einem gesonderten Blog auslassen mit dem Titel Große und kleine Ärgernisse und Freuden.

Als wir durch die Altstadt gelaufen sind haben wir einen sehr netten Laden entdeckt.
