Biot - South of France January 2010

Hi Folks!

Have been a bit lazy these times. At least I want to you show you some pictures from my last trip to the South of France at the end of January. I will not comment these pictures.

Midem 2010 in Cannes

It is always great being there and we where lucky because a few days later the big snow fall came and we even lost our wonderful Mimosa-Tree at the entrance of Bastide de Libac. It was breaking down from loads of snow that it had to carry. It just could not take it!!!


Really feel sorry about that, because it was a very big and beautiful tree.

I will place some comments and pics later.

Back in Munich

So here I am back in Munich since Monday the 4th. I had a good trip back home because there was no traffic.

It is quite cold here and there is also some snow. I am looking forward now for my trip to the South of France which will be on the 21st of January. I will get back to you when I have arrived in Biot. Till then there is a lot of work to do. So see you soon on this blog.

Happy New Year 2010!

So the time here for me is nearly over. Claudia left today and I have to leave my wonderful apartment tomorrow and move in with my family, which is actually not a bad choice!

Sylvester night was great at the home of my family and wonderful people were there. It was little Beppi ´s first Sylvester night that he was not asleep. He was all excited to watch the fireworks. At the end  he got a bit tired though and he did not expected it to be that loud - he hates that. But he survived till about 00:30.

In the morning Beppi and me went for a walk to collect all the rest of the firework rockets and we builded something out of it.

The weather on New Years Day always seems to be great here. What scenery!

After having lunch at the Hotel Bellavista we went home playing with his cars and watching some cartoons on the telly.

Bob Sleigh Run

So we went to the Bob Club St. Moritz this morning. It was quite impressive and I think I was more excited than Claudia.

 First she had to get the helmet and then we were watching the others going down the St. Moritz Bob Run. When the trainings were over it was the turn for the guests.

When Claudia came back she was overwhelmed. She just loved it and wanted to go again immediately.

After that we went shopping, had lunch in St. Moritz and a drink a my friend Pava´s Place. He is called Pava or Pavarotti because he looks a bit like him and as many Italians can sing as well.

Then we went home and had a relaxing evening.

Welcome to the Engadine

So after a long trip from Michelstadt Claudia has finally arrived. It took her over 8 hours to get here. Well it was Saturday and the 26th of December.

The next day the weather was fabulous and we went for a long walk to the Fex valley. In the evening we had dinner at the pizzeria in the Chesa Veglia which was very nice.

On Monday we went to the Roseg Valley. The weather is still good and we walked about 15 km.

The evening we were spending at home.

Tomorrow it is Claudia’s big day. She will go down the bob run in St. Moritz. A present we gave to her on her last birthday.

Walking in the winter wonderland

So it had been snowing till this evening and all passes are closed.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve and little Beppi was really excited. Of course he got loads of presents especially Lego stones so he was very busy putting everything together.

In the evening my cousin Jacqueline and her husband Nicky arrived. After having a nice dinner we were playing with Beppi and his new toys and games. We had lots of fun.

Tomorrow my friend Claudia will come and I am looking forward to it.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow

So since yesterday it didn’t stop snowing. Skiing is not so nice when you cannot see anything. So Barbara and I decided to go for a walk, which was nice.

Later we decorated the Christmas tree. In the evening the rest of the family arrived. Uncle Klaus, my cousin Ariane, Christian and their wonderful son little Beppi (Sebastian).

We had a nice dinner at the pizzeria Chesa Veglia. We met a lot of friends there that have all finally arrived.

This morning it is quite foggy and still snowing a little bit. Guess I will have a very lazy day today.

Holidays In Switzerland 2009 / 2010

Hi folks!

So here I am back again in the Upper Engadine Valley. Auntie Barbara and me drove to St. Moritz on Saturday the 19th. We had quite a good trip without much traffic.

When we arrived here it was sunny but really cold, about – 18°C. The next day we walked into the Fex Valley. It was a gorgeous day but even colder than the day before. We had a nice lunch at Chesa Pool and then walked back to Sils Maria.

The next day it started snowing and it hasn’t stopped yet.

In the coming days I will post some more.

January 2009 in the South of France

So after our wonderful stay in the Engadine Valley we went down to the South of France two weeks later. It became a fixed date in the last three years. Again we were really lucky with the weather except one day when it was raining a little.

Great view to the Mediterranean mountains that you can only see in wintertime.

On Saturday we went to Cannes to see what was going on at the MIDEM. Next day we went to Antibes visiting the renovated Picasso museum and to the Fernand Leger museum which is located next to the village of Biot where we stay and we also did a little walking with Balou.

On Monday we went to Nice to the antique market and had lunch there. Back home we put on the open fire place.

On Tuesday we met my dear friend Kathy in Monaco and had a really nice lunch at the Café de Paris right next to the Casino. Afterwards we drove Kathy home and visited her lovely house that was build in 1925 from her uncle.

Wednesday morning we drove to Menton. The weather was lovely and we walked through the old part of Menton and visited the old cemetery. From Menton we drove to Cap Ferrat to have a look at the Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild. Beautiful gardens – I can really recommend going there.

Today is our last day before we leave tomorrow. So we had a good lunch in Antibes. Bought some things at the wonderful market. The afternoon we spent at the pool reading before we had a last walk to Biot for a drink.
